    I feel you on this one. I ditched Firefox because it kept freezing or taking up huge amounts of memory. Chrome is lightweight and reliable. My only problem is some sites that don’t recognize the browser type and the non-support of rss bookmarks like you mentioned. RSS readers are a hassle; all I want are live bookmarks.

    As a weekend project I created an extension that mimics Firefox’s live bookmarks handling of RSS feeds. Its does this by syncing your feeds with bookmark folders and offers most of what FIrefox does. Try it out and see what you think.
